Drikung Kagyu Tibetan Buddhist Center and lama Drupon Sangyas invite you to attend Naga puja (tib: Nāga Menaka) ritual practice of offering to the Nagas.
The Naga puja will take place on Saturday 17th May from 12 (noon) utill 2.30 pm Tiibeti Budismi Keskuses Vilmsi 45a-2
Nagas are semi-divine half-human, half-serpent beings, water dragons and wisdom holders. We as human being should support Nagas and help them by protecting the natural environment which is home for human and Nagas; we are all dependent on each other for our survival.
If we harm the environment, and cause pollution due to our greed and ignorance, then Nagas will get sick. They may also become angry and while they won’t harm us directly, the harm could come to us because of pollution of water and food sources. In some case can cause skin diseases, depletion of life force energy and other obstacles.
It is important we humans respect the environment for the benefit of all beings. It is also wise to make offerings to Nagas turning them into their allies what is benefitted by increased health and prosperity.
Some Nagas are Buddha Dharma protectors and play important roles in the establishment and continuity of the Dharma.
If perform offering on a proper day, Nagas can present health, wealth and confidence in Dharma. Obstacles and sickness will be eliminated. One will always meet good friends and gurus and will accomplish one's practices. Also has a happy harmonious family with pleasant looking and intelligent children. On the global level, country will enjoy peace and harmony.
The Nagas are awake on certain days that are determined by calculations on the Tibetan calendar. These are the „ Naga Days“ (tib. "Teb" or sanskrit “Naga Panchami”) on which Naga ceremonies are performed. It's important not to "wake up" the Nagas on the other days, when they're asleep. Saturday 17th May is a good “teb” day
The offering is 50 €. If you can this is also good to do more reach offering. All of these donations if did with pure mind and motivation will bring result of merit accumulation.
The sponsor of the puja should also observe strict vegetarianism one day before and on the day of the puja to cleanse themselves as Nagas detest meat and alcohol. Eggs, garlic and onions are also not recommended. These days need to avoid any sexual activity
